Powered or electric wheelchairs may be suitable for you if:

• You need to be hoisted into your seat, or
• You may damage your shoulders and arms by using a handle bar style control unit.
• Need to be more independent indoors

Or if you require any of the following:

• Dual controls (where someone else is required to help control your powered wheelchair)
• Any form of leg rest or support, or
• Can only use Joystick style controls.

Generally, powered wheelchairs are more specialised items than a mobility scooter. Powered wheelchairs are tailored to the individual’s requirements. If you feel that a powered wheelchair is the appropriate mobility solution for your needs, a specially trained member of our staff will assess you to ensure that correct chair is purchased.

Specialist seating can also be assessed for and provided when required.
